ICS AB accredited laboratory since 1997

To perform inspection or testing with uncalibrated measuring and testing equipment is to guess the result. An expensive instrument with great precision can be a necessary condition for an accurate measurement, but does not in itself constitute a guarantee for the accuracy of the measurement. Maintenance, inspection and calibration, based on calibrated standards, is therefore an activity of fundamental importance.

Background

ICS AB has calibrated tensile testing equipment since the mid-eighties. Over time, the requirements have tightened and in the mid-nineties we decided to invest in an accreditation of our business. In April 1997 we were ready and approved by SWEDAC. We are listed as lab no. 1515 in Sweden's Measurement Place Calendar.

How is it done?

Our accreditation means that SWEDAC, Sweden's national authority for technical accreditation, has reviewed and approved our competence, among other things, against the requirements of ISO / IEC 17025. To help, SWEDAC has an expert independent technical assessor who reviews our methods and references. The accreditation is audited once a year by SWEDAC and / or technical assessors. Accreditation can be withdrawn if the requirements are not met or key people leave.

What does our accreditation mean for our customers?

  • Our measuring equipment is checked and calibrated against national references at the national survey site

  • Our staff has sufficient competence for the test

  • The measurement results are kept confidential for at least 6 years

  • We participate in national and international tests and comparisons

  • Our methods, references and results are approved and comparable with other labs around the world

  • Our measurements are of high quality with an established measurement uncertainty
